Christ’s Church Choir
Christ’s Church Choir is an ensemble comprised of 16 boy and girl choristers and 18 experienced adult singers. The choristers come from across Westchester and sing most Sundays during the choir season. The adult singers are a dedicated team of professional and semi-professional singers from across the tri-state area. In recent years, the choir has sung services at the Washington National Cathedral, the Cathedral of St John the Divine, NYC and the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, NYC. In 2008 the choir undertook their first tour of the UK, singing at the Cathedrals of Chichester, Salisbury and Wells. The next choir tour is planned for 2018. The choir has also recorded three CD’s, the most recent of which, Christmas at Christ’s Church, will be ready for release in December 2016.
The Organist and Choirmaster is always pleased to meet at any time with adult singers as well as prospective choristers and their parents who might be interested in the Christ’s Church choral program. For more information, please contact Ruaraidh Sutherland at email@example.com.
Christ’s Church Singers
Christ’s Church Singers were formed in 2012 with membership drawn primarily from high school students and parents in the parish. This group sings several times each year, most especially at the Christmas Pageant (joining with our Choristers) and our Family liturgies for Palm Sunday and Easter Day. Like our other choirs, this is a vibrant and energetic group of singers who contribute greatly to our worship.
In the words of our departing Rector, Canon Harriss, “we welcome people of all ages, from newborns to people in their nineties.” Children make up a large portion of our parish. In addition to Sunday School, the music program involves the children in the Liturgy through sacred song.
Cherub Choir exists to instill a love and excitement for singing sacred music in the hearts and minds of young children, and to prepare them to eventually join the ranks of the older choristers. All children, regardless of parish affiliation, are welcome.
