Introducing Father Robert (Bob) Flanagan

Posted by Mary McCarthy on OA11er @ 11:04 AM

The Wardens of Christ's Church are pleased to announce the selection of Father Robert (Bob) Flanagan as our Interim Pastor as of Monday, October 17, 2016.

The Reverend Bob Flanagan returns to Christ's Church Rye, having been sponsored for the priesthood by the parish in early 2000. After graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) in 2003, Bob served as Associate Rector at St. Matthew's Bedford. In 2008, he began his work at Brooks School, serving for five years as School Minister, Chair of the Theology Department, dorm parent to forty boys each year, and coach of medal-winning crews at the New England Interscholastic Rowing Association championships. Bob finished his tenure at Brooks in 2012 to return to the Diocese of New York as Interim Pastor at churches in Armonk, Pleasant Valley, and, most recently, Scarsdale. Additionally, Bob is an award-winning author and currently writing his thesis for his doctor of ministry degree at VTS. Bob and Lanie will reside in Rye during the church's transition. Their children, Caity and Dan, are both college graduates, pursuing careers in health and wellness and software development respectively.

We know you will find Bob warm, open and caring: a most appropriate choice to help guide us through this time of transition and change. Please join us in welcoming Bob and Lanie to Christ's Church Rye!
