Matthew's gospel, Chapter 6:19-21 says: "do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth...but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven...For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." We all have many treasures in our lives--love of family and friends, our faith, our community, our hobbies and activities, our volunteer and paid work.

As you consider your 2017 pledge to Christ's Church Rye, we encourage you to think of pledging as an opportunity to thank God for all your treasures: your many blessings, your children, your parents, our Church, your health, your memories.

Some considerations when it comes to giving:

  • Think of your pledge as a thank you and prayerfully consider your gift before planning your family's budget.
  • Recognize that as we are beginning the search for a new rector, what we pledge is a key sign of our commitment to our parish.
  • This is the year to either increase your pledge or to begin pledging if you have not yet done so in order to support the Search Committee in telling the best story of Christ's Church.
  • In celebration of our community of giving, on Sunday, November 6th we will make an offering of our pledge cards during the morning services.
